Play Development
Scripts are developed through the PRTC's unique "greenhouse" process, so-named because it is how we "grow" new plays and playwrights. A greenhouse provides a playwright and the budding script with anywhere from several days to a week of rehearsal with a professional director and actors; the process culminates in concert readings for live audiences. Be a part of the magic by attending an invitation-only greenhouse performance!
These special events are free of charge and feature feedback sessions with the director and actors, which help shape the new script. To receive advance invitations to greenhouse events, join our email list!
Join us for our ongoing concert reading series. Stay afterward to share your thoughts with the playwright and the director, Guy Sanville.
DETACHMENT
by Michael Brian Ogden
Saturday, March 6 at 10:30 AM
Deep in the provinces of war-torn Afghanistan, an unlikely romance develops between an ambitious journalist and an American soldier. Embedded with American security forces, New York Times journalist Adara Qureshi seeks a topic for her next book and is convinced that a U.S. Special Forces commander is the key. The more they learn about each other, the more they seem doomed to a choice between love and duty.
The concert reading will take place at Chelsea District Library;
please call (734) 475-8732 to register.
