The Purple Rose Theatre Company is dedicated to the belief that there are creative and revelatory voices in America's heartland that need to be heard and explored. We are committed to seeking out and developing playwrights, actors, designers and directors who believe that a healthy, working theatre can strengthen a healthy, working community.

To fulfill our vision, we produce new plays by emerging playwrights, and fill our casts with regional talent.  We nurture new theatre artists in our unique, exciting apprenticeship program.  Our staff and board are committed to producing the highest quality live theatre at an affordable ticket price and contributing to the vibrant cultural life of Southeast Michigan.
