The
story of Completing Dahlia centers around Dahlia Newburg,
a young, attractive career woman and her relationship with Ryan Stredal,
her lover. Dahlia would like to eventually settle down and have a
perfect future with a house, children, pets, and Ryan as her
husband.
Unfortunately, Ryan has a roving eye and does not always share this
same vision of the future. Dahlia eventually gets him to visit Dr.
Kazooke, a relationship counselor whose practice consists of some
unconventional procedures.
Completing Dahlia is an adult comedy and is recommended for mature audiences only.
Under the direction of Anthony Caselli, the cast of Completing Dahlia was lead by Carey Crim as Dahlia Newburg and Ryan Carlson as Ryan Stredal. Janet Maylie portrayed Dahlia's mother with Leo McNamara as Dr. Kazooke and Jim Porterfield and Elizabeth Ann Townsend as two of his patients. Completing Dahlia was written by Michigan playwright Annie Martin, a graduate of Kalamazoo College and the PRTC Apprenticeship Program. This World Premiere was the first professional production of Ms. Martin's work.
