Where
does one go to discover the deeper
meanings to Life's many mysteries?
You might go to the mountains of Tibet, or perhaps the pages of some
ancient scrolls. How 'bout an ice fishing shanty in Northern Wisconsin?
In Guys
on Ice, directed by Anthony Caselli, that's just where we end
up.
Lloyd and Marvin are two ice fishing buddies who think that their
ship has finally come in when they are scheduled to be featured on
a popular outdoor TV show. When Ernie the Moocher comes calling,
Lloyd and Marvin give him anything he wants just to get rid of him,
afraid he'll interfere with their big chance at fame and fortune.
As one thing leads to another the ichthyologically-minded duo begin
to find that their one shot at fame may just be the one that got
away.
Guys on Ice was researched and conceived by Fred Alley and Frederick Heide, with the book and lyrics by Fred Alley and music by James Kaplan. The performance featured PRTC favorites Joey Albright, Tom Whalen, and Paul Hopper.
