Written
by Michigan playwright Suzanne Burr, Hang the Moon centers
around Eddie Cooper, a middle-aged veteran who has been unable
to leave the memories of Vietnam behind. Troubled by the choices
he had to make during his military service, Eddie refuses to
face the realities he encounters in civilian life. Locked deep
in his mind are passionate, yet painful, memories of a young
child he befriended while overseas.
With the help of his sister Rose
and his military buddy,
Frankie
Ferrano, Eddie is willing to finally leave the military hospital
and face the future. The love, understanding and care of his family
and friends help him overcome his guilt-ridden past and begin a
new life.
The cast, under the direction of T. Newell Kring, was lead by Steve Dixon in the role of Eddie Cooper, with Milfordean Luster as his sister Rose and Guy Sanville as his friend Frankie Ferrano. The remainder of the cast included Joseph Albright, Dan Brinkle, Olivia Kasle, Bert Matias, Parker Plague and Robert Starko.
