2013 / 2014 Class Schedule
Voice & Movement Weekend Intensive
Friday – Sunday, July 18 – 20, 2014
Fri. 7-11PM, Sat. 10AM-6PM, Sun. 11AM-3PM
Limit: 16 actors
Must be 18 years of age or older to participate.
The voice and the body are the actor’s most important, and most often neglected, tools. Join us for a weekend-long exploration of how the voice and body work together to allow the actor access to his/her full expressive potential. The goal is to come back to the true self- to explore how we breathe, move, imagine, and speak – how breath, movement, and imagination inform the voice and how the voice is literally housed within the entire body. We’ll move beyond the ordinary use of the voice and body, to reconnect with ourselves in order to realize a more complete “tool” for creative expression. We will be exploring the principles of Kristin Linklater, Patsy Rodenburg, Rudolf Laban and Irmgard Bartenieff, among others. All experience levels are welcome; the course is designed for both beginning and advanced students. Lunch is provided on Saturday. Instructed by Michelle Mountain.
