The Purple Rose Theatre is all about gathering together and sharing in the experience of live theatre. Our indoor space is cozy and confined. The theatre industry is committed to the health and safety of all members of our community: theatre employees, production staff, cast, and audience members. Our union, Actors’ Equity Association, has specific guidelines for the protection of its members. We are following relevant guidance in this area. Sick actors potentially means cancelled performances. And we are doing everything in our power to stay up and running!
Please note:
• The wearing of a face mask while inside the building is recommended, especially if you are immunocompromised.
• Patrons are not required to present proof of vaccination to enter The Purple Rose Theatre.
While The Purple Rose Theatre has relaxed its COVID-19 policies, it is important to note the following entry requirements may change based on the following:
• Should the Federal, State, local or health authorities issue further changes to policy in response to an increase in COVID-19 infection rates, The Purple Rose reserves the right to comply with such changes and recommendations, including the reinstatement of mandatory mask wearing and/or vaccination requirements.
• If patrons feel sick or are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms, The Purple Rose Theatre asks that patrons prioritize their health and the health of others by staying home.
The Purple Rose Theatre maintains its commitment to creating a safe environment for its patrons and will continue to evaluate its policy based on guidelines from the CDC, WHO, State of Michigan and City of Chelsea.
We’re all in this together. Thank you for being part of our community and following these policies strongly recommended by the CDC, WHO, MDHHS, MIOSHA, and Actors’ Equity Association. The Purple Rose Theatre has upgraded HVAC systems with MERV 13 filters, increased air circulation, increased cleaning and disinfecting protocols, and added sanitizing stations throughout the building.
