Mr. Travis is a graduate of Carleton College, earning a BA in Economics. He also
attended Keller Graduate School of Management and obtained a Certificate in Business
Administration and after a 38-year interval, undertook a post bachelor studies program
at Wayne State University (4.0 Dean’s List). He worked in the insurance and managed healthcare industry, beginning as a Reinsurance Underwriter and culminating in becoming the Director of Provider Relations, Contracting and Claims for a mental health managed care system. In his corporate roles, he also served as an instructor in various disciplines including
Supervisory Skills, Insurance Accounting, Insurance Law and Contracting and
Insurance Underwriting as well as obtaining certifications in four distinct areas.

Somewhere in this busy career, his college passion for theatre was reignited and he
embarked on a career in theatre as well. He became a member of Actors’ Equity
Association, as well as SAG/AFTRA, and has made dozens of appearances on regional
stages, as well as a number of movie and television appearances and has also directed
over 40 stage productions.

Mr. Travis has worked as an acting instructor for several organizations, including Ann
Arbor After Schools Programs, Mosaic Youth Theatre of Detroit, Michigan Actors Studio,
Vista Maria Youth facility, Cranbrook Summer Theatre School, Shakespeare in Detroit
and has been a guest lecturer in Theatre at Wayne State University, University of
Detroit-Mercy, Eastern Michigan University, Oakland University and the University of
Nevada-Reno.

He is a Resident Artist at the Purple Rose Theatre and serves as their Diversity
Enrichment Consultant. He is also a company member of the University of Michigan’s
Center For Research, Learning and Teaching Applied Theatre Company, serving as an
actor, director and consultant. He has also been contracted as the Supervising Director
for the Obsidian Theatre Festival, assisting and supporting production directors.
Most recently, Lynch has taken on the role of Full-Time Building Substitute Teacher for
Oakland Independent School District. He is passionate about helping others become a
little bit better, day by day.
