Jeffry was born in Michigan, is an alumnus Wayne State University and Ohio University and was a resident playwright at the Purple Rose Theatre where his play Under Ceege was produced.
Jeffry was the recipient of the Kennedy Center’s Roger L. Stevens Award for his first play, Full Circle, which was premiered by Plowshares Theater Company in Detroit. PTC also premiered Jeffry’s second play …Continued Warm. Jeffry’s play Blood Divided was commissioned by the Alabama Shakespeare Festival and received a New Play Award from the Edgerton Foundation, as did his play DAUPHIN ISLAND, which was also premiered by ASF.
Jeffry’s determined to break into film before he breathes his last.
