MORNING AFTER GRACE

a World Premiere by Carey Crim

September 29, 2016 – December 17, 2016

Angus and Abigail meet at a funeral and are surprised to wake up together after a wine-fueled, one-night stand. While Abigail may finally be ready to take a chance on love after her husband left her years before for a younger model, Angus has a few issues of his own to work through first. When neighbor Ollie, a former baseball player with secrets of his own, shows up, confusion and chaos ensue. Can these three find a way to connect with their individual pasts in order to construct a brighter future?

PRESS QUOTES

“It is a delightful farce without being shallow; it is thought-provoking without being pretentious; it points to social injustices but never puffs up with self-righteous indignation. It makes no demands, but somehow seduces us into caring about what happens to the three 60-years-plus adults whose stories unfold across the intimate Purple Rose stage.”

Crim has premiered five plays at the Purple Rose and has a booming career on regional and Broadway stages. This is an excellent addition to those successes. She’s a witty, subtle but also deeply sensitive playwright.
