David was born in Detroit, is an alumnus of both Michigan State University and Wayne State University, and is a Resident Playwright at The Purple Rose Theatre, where ten of his plays have been produced. His plays have been performed from New York to Tasmania, and his work is published by Concord Theatricals, Heuer Publishing, and Theatrical Rights Worldwide (TRW). He adapted his dark comedy, Vino Veritas, into a feature film starring Emmy-winner Carrie Preston, and several of his short plays have also been adapted into films. His writing has been publicly burned, he has been hanged in effigy, and he is inordinately fond of cheese and terriers.
